Now that I have your heart by heart, I see
The wharves with their great ships and architraves;
The rigging and the cargo and the slaves
On a strange beach under a broken sky.
O not departure, but a voyage done!
The bales stand on the stone; the anchor weeps
Its red rust downward, and the long vine creeps
Beside the salt herb, in the lengthening sun.
Now that I have your heart by heart, I see.
The wharves with their great ships and architraves;
– Louise Bogan –
It was love in larger than life fashion. As if my heart, mind, body and soul was suspended in a glas case above their world.
Completely exposed, I knew I had nothing to fear, for their unspoken love was evident.
Not to be outdone they stepped into the case, imersing me into their being.
Hand in hand we ventured into a whirlwind of emotions. We shared truths no other soul knew.
We quickly fell for one another and connected in a way
that was too unbelievable, to even be considered fiction.
